    Description: This course describes first aid techniques for child care providers. It details the handling and storage of
    medications, when to contact a child’s parent and healthcare provider or seek emergency medical care.
    Objectives: RECALL universal precautions for handling blood and body fluids. RECALL purpose and components of an
    incident Action Plan. RECALL procedures for conducting an incident assessment. RECALL proper handling procedures
    and documentation requirements for storing and dispensing medications.
    Duration: 2  hours  
First Aid: Physical Injuries and Emergencies (.2 CEU/2 Hours)
    Description: This course familiarizes students with first aid techniques for child care providers. It details specific routine
    and emergency first aid procedures, handling and storage of medications, guidelines for contacting a child’s parent and
    healthcare provider, and situations that require emergency medical care.
    Objectives: RECALL basic first aid procedures for treating superficial injuries in a child care setting, including bruises,
    cuts, scrapes, and splinters. RECALL emergency first aid procedures for treating serious injuries in a child care setting,
    including joint dislocations, fractures, shock, sprains, strains, head trauma, and spinal injuries. RECALL first aid and
    emergency procedures for treating bites and stings. RECALL first aid and emergency procedures for treating burns and
    poisoning.
    Duration: 2  hours  
First Aid: Physiological Incidents and Emergencies (.2 CEU/2 Hours)
    Description: This course familiarizes students with first aid techniques for child care providers. It details specific routine
    and emergency first aid procedures, handling and storage of medications, guidelines for contacting a child’s parent and
    healthcare provider, and situations that require emergency medical care.
    Objectives: RECALL symptoms and first aid procedures for general illnesses in a child care setting, including the
    common cold, diabetes, fever, gastroenteritis, congenital heart defect, head lice, pinworms, and ringworm.
    RECALL symptoms and first aid procedures for respiratory incidents in a child care setting, including choking, asthma,
    and allergic reactions. RECALL symptoms and first aid procedures for elevated temperature-related incidents in a child
    care setting. RECALL symptoms and first aid procedures for decreased temperature-related incidents in a child care
    setting. RECALL causes and first aid procedures for fainting and seizures in a child care setting.
