Growing, Caring, Learning Together

Dear Educare Staff,
Our family has been attending Educare, formerly Dandelion Childcare, since 2004. Our first child, Alex,
began when he was just 18 months old. In 2006, our second child, Sam, started as one of the first under 12
months to attend. We have collectively been through the entire curriculum and have found that Educare
has provided our family with many, many benefits. The most outstanding to us as parents is the peace of
mind we get by knowing we are leaving our children in the hands of providers who genuinely care for them
and who offer a safe, secure, nurturing environment day to day. My wife and I can comfortably leave our
children without fear and go about our workday knowing they will be safe and well cared. This knowledge is
priceless and is the number one reason we have stayed with Educare from the beginning of our parenting
experience.
If this is not enough there are numerous other advantages for parents and their children. For the children
there are the many activities that Educare provides. Year round there is a concentration on the outdoors
and nature through the Nature-al Discoveries Program. Our family is focused on the outdoors and truly
find Nature-al Discoveries to extend that focus for us to our children through walks to the creek on Educare’
s 22- acre property. We have gone as a family and these events are exceptional on many levels but most
importantly the children love them, they get to experience hands-on many of the wonderful living creatures
on the way including toads, small frogs, catching crayfish and a host of other birds, plants, and insects.
This past summer Educare offered almost weekly off-site field activities for the school-age children
including, afternoons at the Brunswick Pool, ice-skating at Skate Frederick, movies at the theater, and
bowling to name a few. Also, Alex our school age child was able to play bingo and make friends with the
Seniors at the Senior Center and to participate in Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Educare also had farm animal
visits for all levels along with moon bounce houses, clown visits, regular music and art classes and even a
tumble fit program. The number of fun and educational activities for the children offered is surprising but
Educare also considers the parents and family through regular picnics that include musicians and other fun
games. Educare also offers Parent’s Night Out, trick or treat from car or truck trunks at Halloween and an
annual Christmas event. All of this goes to make for a fun family atmosphere that the kids just do not want
to leave. Both of our children have asked that we pick them up later than our scheduled times because
they want to stay and participate in activities or play with their friends. It is awesome to know your child
loves the place that they are being left at for the better part of the weekdays.
As for the educational part of Educare my family has found that the daily agendas in the early childhood
programs offer many opportunities for fun learning events. The Educare Program is also integrated with
Valley Elementary School. The Kindergarten Teachers from Valley have actually incorporated visiting and
working with the Pre-kindergarten Program at Educare into their yearly plans. There is significant benefit to
this in that the Pre-kindergarten Program is guided and focused on the Elementary Program requirements.
Alex our school age child was well prepared for the start of Kindergarten as a result of these efforts.
The staff and administrators at Educare are wonderful communicators and quickly address any issue that
may arise. Their flexibility, enthusiasm, and genuine love of the children are sincere and obvious as a
result.
Finding Educare as a place to help raise our children is truly a blessing to our family, we are very thankful
for the opportunity to have our children attend such a wonderful learning center.
Kind regards,
The Verosto Family
